Special Considerations for Admission

In keeping with the College of Mount Saint Vincent and Master of Science Physician Assistant Program mission statements, the program feels it is our duty to impart to our accepted students a deep knowledge of their chosen discipline, while keeping a connection to the communities from which they come.

In all areas where the applicant scores in the process, equal additional consideration will be given to:

  1. Members of the Bronx community.
  2. Students from socioeconomically deprived households.

There is no guaranteed admittance into the program and an interview is required before any applicant is offered acceptance.

The program’s admission goal is to strive to develop a diverse, inclusive cohort of students, comprised of traditional and non-traditional students, College of Mount Saint Vincent and non-College of Mount Saint Vincent students and graduates, veterans, and non-veterans, as well older individuals looking toward a second career. Individuals will not be discriminated on the basis of sex, age, gender identity, race, national or ethnic origin, religion, and socioeconomic status.

In the future, the program hopes to develop affiliations with immediate family members of fallen NYPD and FDNY community members, but this is not planned for the first two cohorts.
