Student Assessment Information
The College of Mount Saint Vincent is committed to continuous improvement. It has developed and maintains a systematic, organized, and sustained process for institutional assessment and the assessment of student learning.
Students who complete an undergraduate degree at the College of Mount Saint Vincent will demonstrate successful attainment of the following four Student Learning Outcomes:
- Development of analytical skills with which to break apart problems and issues and marshal the information with which to address them, using such tools as critical reading, mathematics, information literacy, scientific reasoning, and theoretical constructs.
- Development of critical thinking skills that focus on understanding as well as knowing, including the ability to explore origins, applications, implications, and relationships.
- Engagement in ethical and religious inquiry, including the development of religious understanding, identifying and articulating ethics and values, and demonstrating understanding of our common humanity.
- Development of persuasive written, oral, and visual communication skills.
