Dates and Deadlines

Students are strongly encouraged to meet all posted deadlines to ensure they receive their funds by the tuition payment deadline for each semester. For more information, please review the Booklet of Financial Assistance included in your award letter package.

October – February

  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available. You may file a new application or renew your application. File the FAFSA
    • Title IV Code: 002703
  • The application for the New York State Tuition Assistance Program is available as soon as the FAFSA has been completed. Apply for the TAP programs
    • NYS TAP Code: 0130
  • FAFSA deadline for new students is February 15

March

  • Fill out the New York State Tuition Assistance Program application
  • Award Letter mailing for new students begins
  • Award Letter Self-Service access for continuing students begins
  • New students should attend Accepted Students Day

April

  • FAFSA deadline for continuing students is April 15

May – June

  • Apply for the Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan by filing out the application. To apply, please visit studentloans.gov
  • Continuing students file Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeals
  • New students attend Orientation sessions

June

  • Accept or decline award offers by June 30

July

  • Check your bill on Banner Self-Service. Set up a monthly payment plan with Tuition Management System (TMS).
  • Accept or decline your aid on Self-Service

August

  • Make sure that you are registered for the correct classes
  • Make sure that you have all your aid including your loans on your account. Before move-in day, check Banner Self-Service to make sure you student bill is cleared
  • One Stop Shop is available for all students in the Blue Room, Founders Hall
  • Complete FAFSA verification for filers selected by the Department of Education by August 1
  • Federal Direct Loan borrowers complete Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling by August 27 (first day of classes)

October

  • If adding or dropping any classes, check with the Office of Financial Aid to see how your aid will be affected

November – December

  • Registration for the spring semester begins
