Subject: Pivot to online instruction in the Undergraduate College and update on COVID-19 testing

Dear Mount Community:

As a result of new directives from Governor Cuomo, the last day of in-seat instruction in the Undergraduate College for the Fall semester will be Friday, November 13.

Undergraduate College
Beginning Monday, November 16, classes in the Undergraduate College will meet online synchronously according to the regular course schedule through the end of the final exam period.

Accelerated Nursing Program
Accelerated Nursing classes in Riverdale and Queens will proceed in-seat as usual for the rest of the semester, including clinical placements.

Resident Students
Residence Halls will close on Friday, November 13 at 6:00 p.m. Students who are going home must move out all of their belongings. Anyone who requires additional time to move out should contact reslife@mountsaintvincent.edu.

Resident students who wish to remain in the residence halls over Thanksgiving break can do so at no additional expense.

All resident students must indicate their plans to go home or remain on campus through the end of the Fall semester before Friday, November 13 by using this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ybfLg8N9cTsysrkJBC4yAn7wpP02KGptWJWFlV_-oTk/edit?ts=5fa986ce&gxids=7757

For health and safety reasons, these decisions must be final; students who move out of the residence halls will not be permitted to return to the halls until the start of the Spring semester.

Campus Offices
Offices on campus will remain open, and the College will continue to support students in both online and in-seat programs.

COVID-19 Testing
New York State has advised that all students should be tested before Thanksgiving. The College will conduct COVID-19 saliva pool testing for all students on Wednesday, November 11. Residential students will be tested leaving their residence halls on Wednesday morning. Testing for commuter students will take place at the Peter Jay Sharp Center, Old Gym beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Testing will also be available for faculty and staff in the Old Gym.

Thanks as always for your continued cooperation and dedication to the health and safety of the campus community.

Sincerely,
Lynne A. Bongiovanni, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the College
Associate Professor of English
