College of Mount Saint Vincent (B.S.) – New York Institute of Technology (M.S.)
The College has a pathways to engineering or IT articulation agreement with NYIT. Depending on the program, students would spend 3 years at CMSV and 1.5 or 2 years at NYIT.
Requirements
- CMSV students enroll by completing the transfer admission application with a transcript to NYIT by March 1 of their junior year at CMSV
- CMSV students must meet the admission criteria for NYIT as stated in the current NYIT catalog, including a cumulative GPA of 2.5. The application process will be simplified for joint admission candidates for programs listed in the agreement. The application fee, essay, and letters of recommendation will be waved.
- CMSV students must forward NYIT an official CMSV transcript prior to registration at NYIT (the cost of the transcript will be covered by the student)
- Submit an application
Transfer Credits
- CMSV students who matriculate at NYIT as full-time students (a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester) will be eligible to receive up to 77 transfer credits (depending on the major) at NYIT per individual program schedules that will be continuously created and updated.
- Whenever possible, course substitutions will be made for NYIT requirements to ensure maximum transferability of credits for CMSV students.
- The fee for the evaluation and application of prior learning credit will be waived for CMSV transfer students.
- Mount transfer student who have been admitted to NYIT’s programs will be offered Priority Registration Days or Enrollment Days to provide optimal opportunity for desired course registration schedules.
Financial Aid and Transfer Scholarships
Mount students should file a FAFSA for the year they plan to attend NYIT. Upon receipt of a completed FAFSA, students will receive a financial aid estimate within seven business days of receipt of their FAFSA and admission to NYIT. This way, they will have a clear understanding of the cost of attending NYIT.
CMSV students who matriculate at NYIT as full-time students will automatically be considered for a transfer scholarship if they meet the criteria below. All students who wish to be considered for a scholarship must submit a FAFSA each year. While at NYIT, they must satisfactorily complete 12 credits each semester with no failing or incomplete grades, maintain a cumulative GPA as specified in their acceptance letter and meet satisfactory academic progress requirements at all times. NYIT scholarships are for tuition only, divided equally between the fall and spring semester. They are not applicable to summer session attendance.
