Head Coach Men’s Soccer/Assistant AD for Operations

The Head Men’s Soccer Coach is responsible for providing leadership, organization and administration of the Men’s Soccer program. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities: Head Men’s Soccer Coach

  • Provide leadership and supervision in all aspects of the Men’s Soccer program including, recruitment, retention, academic support, practice preparation, game strategy, alumni development, fundraising and community service
  • Recruitment of student athletes who meet the college’s admissions requirements. Meets annual recruitment goals as developed annually by the Director of Athletics and Director of Admission
  • Coordinate and outline a complete recruiting agenda to identify quality student athletes.
  • Mandatory attendance at all Admission open houses and scheduled orientations
  • Ensure compliance with all College, Skyline Conference and NCAA rules and regulations related to recruiting and academic monitoring for student-athletes
  • Collaborates with the Sports Information Director for the positive promotion of the Men’s soccer program. Areas included should be individual and team statistics, media guides, reports to NCAA, Skyline Conference, individual accolades on and off the field and website updates
  • Ensure department and college regulations are understood and complied with by student athletes and coaching staff
  • Work closely with the Athletic Department in any fundraising activities that will directly impact the men’s soccer program or the athletic department in general
  • Represent the college at athletics meetings pertaining to men’s soccer; including Skyline Conference meetings
  • Coordinate a minimum of two (2) community outreach projects for the promotion of CMSV athletics
  • Develop an annual operating budget and oversee the purchasing distribution and collection of all equipment
  • Display a commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and ethical conduct as per the NCAA Constitution
  • Work closely with the Director of Athletics on long and short-term planning for the Men’s Soccer program
  • Supervise the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach(s)

Responsibilities: Operations

  • Manage game day setup
  • Supervise and schedule game day event staff
  • Maintain all relevant equipment
  • Ensure all relevant equipment is in working condition on game day
  • Make sure game day set up is complete 2 hours prior to contest
  • Hire student workers as game day event staff
  • Approve and submit all student game day event staff hours
  • Assist the Assistant AD for Facilities and Operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization
  • Knowledge of NCAA, conference and College rules and regulations
  • Previous successful coaching and playing experience on the College or High School level
  • Ability to work effectively with all College personnel, students, and the community
  • Evening and weekend hours essential
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
