Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Mathematics

The College of Mount Saint Vincent is an academically excellent, authentically inclusive, Catholic and ecumenical liberal arts college with approximately 1,500 undergraduate students and 300 graduate students, located in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, New York City. Our beautiful 70-acre campus of rolling lawns and wooded hills overlooking the Hudson River is just 12 miles from midtown Manhattan. 

Job Description
The Department of Mathematics is seeking applications for one or more of the following adjunct professor positions.

  1. An adjunct professor to teach Mathematical Modeling, a one-semester course similar to College Algebra. This is the course the vast majority of students at the College take and satisfies the Core Requirement in Mathematics. This position comes with two lecture sections and three recitation sections. The lecture sections will involve in-person, on-campus instruction, but the recitation sections will meet synchronously online. Most course at the College will be in-person this fall.
  2. An adjunct professor to teach an online section of Mathematical Modeling. This course would be taught asynchronously to support students who are unable to come to campus due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis.
  3. An adjunct professor to teach an online section of Introduction to Statistics. This course would be taught asynchronously to support students who unable to come to campus due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis.

Requirements
Applicants must have, at minimum, a Master’s Degree, either in mathematics, statistics, or in a STEM or math-adjacent field.
