Professor Szala was an adjunct associate professor for the art therapy program at The College of New Rochelle before it relocated to the College of Mount Saint Vincent. She works full-time in adult inpatient psychiatry. She specializes in personality disorders and melds art therapy with cognitive-behavioral/dialectical behavior treatment approaches. With an additional master’s degree in theology/spirituality, she explores the intersection of art, spirituality, and psychiatry, and has presented her findings at numerous national conferences. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree.
