Natalia Arbelaez, M.F.A.
Adjunct Instructor of Ceramics
M.F.A., The Ohio State University
B.F.A., Florida International University
Professor Arbelaez is a figurative sculptural artist who uses any medium that best exemplifies concepts and ideas, but has a preference for clay because of its memory, immediacy, and visceral handling. She received her B.F.A. from Florida International University and her M.F.A. with a concentration in ceramics and sculpture from The Ohio State University, where she received an Enrichment Fellowship. Professor Arbelaez has participated in several residencies, such as Art South, Homestead, FL, Belden Brick Factory, Sugarcreek, Ohio, and at the Clay Art Center in Portchester, NY as a Barbara Rittenberg Fellow. She was awarded the Inaugural Artaxis Fellowship that funded a residency in the Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts in Newcastle, Maine. Her work has been exhibited nationally in museums, galleries, and included in various collections.
