Professor Ehinger was an adjunct assistant professor at The College of New Rochelle. She earned her master’s degree at Pratt Institute where she received the Pratt Circle Award for Academic Excellence and Outstanding Achievement. She completed the New York Center for Authentic Movement Study’s two-year intensive training in Authentic Movement for Psychotherapists.
Her extensive research focuses on the body’s response to and interpretation of trauma. She has presented at numerous conferences and summits on a variety of topics including: dance/movement therapy for intellectually disabled adults, dance/movement therapy for self-care and burnout prevention, and authentic movement and body image in adult women.
Her previous dance/movement experience was in safe houses for sex-trafficking survivors, and she currently works as a dance/movement therapist at Kings County Center for inpatient psychiatry in Brooklyn, NY, where she specializes in major mental illnesses and substance abuse disorder. Her private psychotherapy practice focuses on authentic movement, trauma, and somatic integration.
